Satin Bay began on the campus of Hampton University, where founder Anitha Woodley turned a simple idea into a self-care revolution. Like many women on their natural hair journey, she grew tired of frizz, breakage, and stretched-out T-shirts. One night, it clicked: if satin protects your hair while you sleep, why not while you dry it? So she sewed her satin pillowcase to a towel, and just like that, the first Satin Bay towel was born.

From campus dorms to HBCU pop-up shops, Satin Bay quickly became a movement rooted in culture, creativity, and community. Those pop-ups, filled with laughter, love, and empowerment, set the tone for what would come next: Satin Bae.

Launched in 2025, Satin Bae was created to honor those beginnings while bringing a fresh, playful energy to the world of satin hair care. It’s the same protection, the same luxury, just with a little more attitude and glow.
